Autism in Ghana

3 comments:

  1. Hi,As a developmental therapist who works extensively in Early Intervention for last decade with children from mild to extreme ASD I find this utter nonsense and antiquated behavioral evidenced based approach haltingly and egregiously offensive. This is robotic training at it's finest! From a Developmental perspective this is NOT addressing any of the core challenges of ASD. For example: Deepening two-way reciprocal engagement around the child's natural lead or intent.Thank you so much.....

    1. Hello Laura, thanks for the comment. I must say we will appreciate an opportunity to have you visit the centre and maybe offer some training. There is no formalized training in Ghana for professionals in Ghana. We rely on training from volunteer partners outside Ghana mainly. There are many other videos on autism in Ghana.
Please take time to watch them on you tube and let us know what help you can give. So far we have seen improvements in the children based on the interventions we are employing. Improvements in communication and interaction. Some are also in mainstream employment and mainstream school. We would very much appreciate, like i stated earlier, your inputs in helping us improve the lives of children with autism in Ghana. Many thanks.
